Member of Parliament

Since the 2008 general election, one particular MP has been obsessed with us and has been obsessed with AirAsia.

He claimed we would go bust so we shouldn’t collect money up front and that the government would have to bail us out; he goes on and on about us owing Malaysian Airpots RM 120 million two years ago. The list is endless.

Now he’s attacking us on the MAS-AirAsia shareholder share swap.

I wonder what his constituents think of his antics. Many of them use AirAsia thanks to our affordable fares; some of them even work for AirAsia. Rather than support us, this MP seems to want us to go bust and make 9,000 people jobless. STRANGE for an elected Wakil Rakyat. And his dislike of me personally is just immense. After all I have done for this country.

It’s a free world and he can feel what he wants but as an elected representative, he should come visit us at AirAsia and find out for himself. I’ll be more than happy to meet with him. In fact, I’ve invited him many, many times. Good leaders should listen to all sides and get the facts instead of just venting.

Come take a look at the LCCT . See if we should be paying half of the charges levied at the Main Terminal of KLIA. Are the services and facilities provided at LCCT equivalent to half of those at the Main terminal? I dare say they are only 30 percent.

This MP claims to be a “man of the people.” Yet he was happy for Malaysian Airports to raise airport charges. Which would have meant that his constituents would have to pay more for air travel. Like I said earlier, STRANGE.

So, YB for Wangsa Maju, here’s another invitation: Come and see me, come and see what an amazing job the staff of AirAsia have done and how they’ve helped 130 million people fly to places and at fares they never believed they could do before.

Come visit us, YB and to all YB too, ask whatever you would like and let’s find a way for Malaysia to win.

bravo! bravo! I love your statement bro! be anak jantan...come on all the yb its time to have so called "rombongan cik kiah" to pay a visit to LCCT. If before you go because you got flight but this time you come as a honorary guest to Air Asia. Anything you not sure or not happy clarified from the owner directly, if the owner can't satisfied your question you can whack him direct but if he can satisfied every single questions or the reason why he doing that.....be fair and gentleman....appologize and move on as a good yb.

Tan Sri, i am glad to come to this blog site and understand AirAsia better. I believe that Tan Sri, you are anytime better than many of our YB. our YB has the privilege to fly MAS, but it is us the people that you allow us to fly. Without AirAsia, I will not be able to afford a 5D4N family trip to Bali. so, your contribution is indeed much appreciated than many YB. God bless you.

No matter what a YB the says i think without your brilliant idea for a LOW COST AIRLINE, most of the Malaysian would not be able to afford to fly. But now sir EVERYONE CAN FLY. Hats off to you sir. Personally I just think the YB is jealous of the growth of AirAsia and you. That the reason why I think he doesn't want to visit AirAsia.

Tony - How about standing for elections at the next GE. Najib will most certainly make you minister of transport and you will have the power to implement his currently only talked about policy of People First. With the millions of malaysians who are grateful to you for allowing them to travel, you will most certainly have a landslide victory anywhere you choose to stand. After airlines, F1, and the EPL, politics for the greater good of malaysians, could be the next big thing for you and you would have not only changed the airlines but also your country. Will you consider this? Cheers - joe

Tan Sri,
I am new in your blog but i must say that I am one of the grateful Malaysian who benefited for what you have done especially with the birth of AirAsia. In fact I did my research on Airasia during my MBA study and I did agreed with lukestkhaandor that you should not get trouble so much on the remarks or comments made by the "one MP's". Politician can be either idea generator or idea debator and thats all it is. But we all Malaysian had a lot of other better thing to do to improve ourself and benefit others. i am also agreed to your disagreement on the hike of PSC's. Those days are gone when companies increases rate on services rendered to present increase in profit. I believed that the Government might need your assistance to lead them the way on how profit can be generated or increase by other means especially those actions that benefited all parties, public, operator & airlines.
